PIXSCAN

CT-Scanner optimized for acquisition speed and soft tissue contrast in small animals (collaboration CPPM, IBDML).

CPPM develops a small animal X-ray CT-scanner based on ultra fast hybrid pixels in collaboration with the Divelopmental Biology Institute of Marseilles-Luminy (IBDML).
This scanner will be installed on the observation platform of IBDML. This project relates to the scope of the French Group of Research (GDR) Modeling and Instrumentation for Biomedical Imaging (MI2B) of the IN2P3/CNRS and the DAPNIA/CEA. The imaging pixel device of this scanner is developed within the XPIX framework. CPPM is involved with the development and production of the device, and IBDML with the optimisation and validation of the scanner for the study of developmental abnormalities of transgenic mice. A similar pixel detector will be manufactured to be inserted in a small animal PET scanner for hybrid X-gamma imaging.
